Escaping the Prison
After a short introductory scene, I went to the mirror and set up my character in the character creator.
Next, I went through the door and woke up from the dream. The mysterious voice would ask me to escape the prison I found myself in as my first test. I followed the arrows and markings on the floor to move and pick up loot.
From the box, I got a TT-33, a basic pistol, 30 rounds of ammunition, bandages, and crackers.

I then went to the room to the right of my cell and picked up a carrot from the box in that room. Running and rolling consumes stamina, as indicated by the small meter next to your character. I checked the trash can for a lighter, a lollipop, and some electronics.
I equipped the pistol, as there was an encounter just around the corner. I dodged a shot (when I saw the red flash) and took out the guard. I picked up a police baton, a white lab coat, and a pair of black-rimmed sunglasses. I equipped everything and set the baton on my hotbar for melee. Then I picked up some bullets from the box in the room to the right. I then found some cables in the trash can. The voice then told me that holding down the right mouse button improves accuracy. I picked up some bandages and aspirin from the box.

In the next room, I looted another pistol, the PM, from another box. I put it in slot 2. I took out the next guard behind the box and picked up a Glick, another lab coat, and sunglasses. Another guard went down quickly, and I looted some bullets. I didn't have any more space in my inventory, so I moved on. The next trash can I looted had some crackers and soda. I ate the carrot and crackers from earlier to replenish my energy, then picked up the crackers and soda from the trash can.
After replenishing my hunger and thirst, I set off. I took the path to the right and headed for the extraction point. The extraction was completed quickly.

The Base
At the base, I went upstairs to find Jeff. He gave me a tour of the base—the warehouse, the construction panel, the vending machine, the enhancer, and the extraction point. Jeff also gave me some quests. I stored some things and sold the Glicks. Kept the equipped TT-33. Then I checked the items for sale in the vending machine.

I checked the enhancer to see my upgrade path.
I researched and activated Backpack Expert I, which increased my backpack capacity by +4. All enhancements require money and materials. I was missing materials for any other enhancements. Then I added Storage Expansion Lv.1 in the warehouse, which gave me +35 storage capacity.
I talked to Jeff next to see what quests he had. He had two: Basic Construction and Startup Capital.

Quest: Basic Construction
- Location: Ground Zero
- Objective: Build a workbench by collecting two pieces of wood.
- Reward: EXP +1000, Currency +500, Bandages x3
Quest: Startup Capital
- Location: Ground Zero
- Reward: EXP +500, Currency +1296
I accepted both quests.

Map: Ground Zero
Clearing the Enemy Camp
On the other side, I learned that I could come back through the bunker or find an extraction point marked with green smoke. I looted the first box and found some bullets and another TT-33. Picked up both and then moved to the right.
In a toolbox ahead, I found some small stones and nails. The small stones can be used to lure enemies. Next I found some nuts, bolts, and a car battery. I found an enemy camp on the left side of the map.
Taking out a red duck here—a rampaging scavenger (they use charge and a butcher knife for melee attacks)—completed the one kill needed for the "Startup Capital" quest. I looted a butcher knife, wood, and some cash from the body. Then I took out another enemy here and looted a blueprint from the data box.

Collecting Gear and Resources
I looted a faded feather and more cash from the body. In the tactical box, I found a homemade shotgun and some bullets. I put the shotgun in my secondary weapon slot. I checked the ammo box near the top tent and found some standard bullets and arrows. I went north and shot an explosive barrel by the wall.
I went through and engaged the green ducks on this side (these ducks use shotguns and wear body armor). Then I checked the container on the right for a marker and some ammo. I also found a laser attachment. I took out the next soldier and looted the bodies of the first and second soldiers. I found a backpack, and equipping it immediately increased my storage to 39. I also found a bow and a cold core fragment—for enhancement.
I also looted an AK-74U and another cold core fragment. Picked up another blueprint for the TOZ-66 next to the embankment. I then took out the next guard. I looted a level 1 body armor, another homemade shotgun, a decorative backpack, and shotgun shells. I picked up a red dot sight and looted more of the same from the next body.
I continued north up the stairs and picked up more junk from various loot boxes. On the left, I found a teleport node that teleported me into a container.
I was at a lake.

I went south from here, taking out a few more green ducks along the way. Looted a PM and a cold core fragment. Near the forest trail, I found a small camp with a recipe for MD40.
Extracting and Submitting Quests
I noticed a small bump on the floor. So I used a shovel to dig up a J-Lab floppy disk.
Continuing south, I cleared another camp and picked up a bunch of loot, all the same stuff. Nothing noteworthy except for finding another piece of wood for the "Basic Construction" quest. I went south at the end of the forest trail and opened a door to go through. I tried to cross the broken bridge to the cave entrance, but I didn't have the required materials, which were 2 metal plates and 2 pieces of wood. I went back to the lake in the north and headed towards the north mountain. I found a lot of medicine by the lake and found that the path to the north mountain was blocked by a fragile wall. I went to the northwest camp and dealt with the green ducks here.
I was near the extraction point above the road camp. I found a muzzle attachment for SMG damage enhancement here. At this point, I was dehydrated. Anyway, I found the blueprint for the homemade shotgun in the camp. I then extracted from Ground Zero. I had completed two quests. I turned in Startup Capital.
I also accepted the quest "The Hunter's Path."
Quest: The Hunter's Path
- Location: Ground Zero
- Objective: Kill 2 rampaging scavengers and submit 2 butcher knives.
- Reward: EXP +1500, Currency +380, Metal Plate x2, Nut x1, Bolt x1. I went to the construction panel and built a workbench. This unlocked the key registration device, for which I needed a circuit board and a CD-ROM drive.
Then I turned in the Basic Construction quest. In the workbench, I checked the blueprint research section.
I unlocked all the blueprints I had picked up. I also upgraded the workbench by researching advanced processing.
Quest: The Importance of Hemostasis
- Location: Ground Zero
- Objective: Use a bandage
- Reward: EXP +500, Currency +150, a pile of medicine x1, and unlocks the item: Aspirin.
Quest: The Signal Tower
- Location: Ground Zero
- Objective: Repair the signal tower in the north
- Required item: Flathead screwdriver
- Reward: EXP +1500, Currency +450
Quest: A Letter from an Old Friend
- Location: Ground Zero
- Objective: Submit: A Letter from an Old Friend
- Reward: EXP +1500, Currency +450
I then bought a flathead screwdriver from the vending machine. I needed this for the "Signal Tower" quest.
Finally, I went to the enhancer and upgraded Survival Instinct 1 (Max HP +5) and Wide View 1 (FOV +15).
Then I went to sleep and fast-forwarded time to 7 am the next morning, as the nights become more dangerous and I didn't want to find out how dangerous.
This concludes this part of the Escape from Duckov walkthrough.
