The next morning at 7 am, I headed to Ground Zero.

Location: Ground Zero

Ground Zero

I headed towards the road camp and soon came to the northern tower.

Northern Tower

I looted the toolbox and found 2 metal plates, 1 nail, and another flathead screwdriver. I interacted with the power box at the base of the tower, completing the objective for the "Signal Tower" quest. I looted some more junk and then moved to the right of the tower, where I found the blueprint for the Potato Graphics Card.

Potato Graphics Card Blueprint

I continued towards the road camp and eliminated a new type of shotgun-wielding enemy. I looted an MP-155 shotgun, a motorcycle helmet, and some medicine from the body. To the left, I found a house with a duck named "Mud."

Mud the Duck

He offered to give me physical training, which was basically a quest. So I accepted the quest "Balanced Nutrition 1" from him.

Quest: Balanced Nutrition 1

  • Objective: Submit 1 duck egg
  • Reward: EXP +800, Currency +500

Duck Egg Quest

I moved to the left, picking up random loot from boxes along the way, until I reached the broken bridge leading to the road camp.

Broken Bridge

I repaired the bridge with two pieces of wood and crossed it. Before crossing, I checked the stash under the power pole to the left, but didn't find anything good. I went to the camp on the forest path, where I eliminated the red scavengers, completing the "Hunter's Path" quest, and picked up two butcher knives. I also found a key to the abandoned gas station.

Forest Path Camp

I came to the broken bridge near the cave entrance and repaired it.

Cave Entrance Bridge

In the cave, I picked up a pistol muzzle, a UP 45, an AK 47, and a hip-fire attachment. I also picked up a bunch of ammo and a laser attachment. Finally, I picked up the blueprints for the Cube Gun and small energy ammo. Then I headed towards the northwest camp, clearing smaller camps and enemies along the way—picking up loot and managing my inventory as needed.

Cave Loot

I then snuck into the northwest camp and found the letter from an old friend in the tent, completing the "A Letter from an Old Friend" quest.

Letter from an Old Friend

I also picked up the crowbar recipe from a nearby data box. I climbed the watchtower and read the note—"Ground Zero Observation Log"—which basically warned me not to go there unless I was fully prepared. Then I encountered a super tough enemy in a hood with a shotgun. It was a tough fight, and I used a bandage during the fight, completing the "The Importance of Hemostasis" quest. Note that this is a tough fight, so be prepared with plenty of ammo and medical supplies.

Tough Enemy

After I took him out, I picked up a nice piece of loot—the Black Market Contact Notes.

Black Market Contact Notes

I also picked up advanced AP shotgun shells from the body. At this point, I was dehydrated again and had run out of soda. On my way to the extraction point, I cleared another camp and picked up two keys, the abandoned gas station and the fence, as well as a holographic sight. Then I extracted.

Base

Back at the base, all my quests were complete. So I turned them all in. A bunch of new quests appeared.

I immediately submitted the "Full of Love" quest.

Next I checked the construction station. I could build the armor shop right away.

Build Armor Shop

Everything else required materials I didn't have. I immediately submitted the "Basic Construction III" quest. I checked the armor shop and bought level 2 armor and a steel helmet. Then I researched all the blueprints I had to clear up inventory space, and stored some loot to make more room. I also researched the repair station at the workbench.

Armor Shop

I bought scissors and a wrench from the vending machine, then researched the disassembly station.

Disassembly Station

Then I upgraded my Gun Mastery I in the enhancer.

Gun Mastery Upgrade

I accepted two quests from the armor shop.

Quest: Supply Route

  • Location: Ground Zero
  • Objective: Mark the supply crate with a marker. (I had a marker in my warehouse)

Supply Route Quest

Quest: Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping Quest

At this point I was out of money, so I ended the day.
